Surprisingly little has been going on of late. Working tons (to pay off Hawaii!!)... going back to work after a vacation is always hard.... I had a few days adjusting to the fact that I wasn't in Hawaii anymore, and had to bring people stuff again. Damn waiting tables!!!
So, let's see... a month... well, we left off at the Tattoo studio. I had to keep it on the down low since she wanted it to be a surprise for her boyfriend and familiy, so I didn't mention it in my last blog, but Katie also got a tattoo!! Fun stuff. The last couple of days were lovely, of course, and leaving was hard. Our last night, during one of our two 8-hour layovers, we tooled around a part of Oahu that we hadn't seen the last time, and then had dinner at our fave restaurant. In fact, I have one last vacation video for you!!!
The trip home was 28 hours!!! I know, you can't feel too bad for me!!! We spent our second 8 hour layover sleeping in the San Francisco airport!! Funny stuff!!
So, let's see... after I got back...
well, the boy taught me how to skateboard. It was an adventure to say the least. I am very sad that I don't have video for all of you!! Imagine, if you will, me in full kneepads, elbow pads, slide gloves, and helmet. Trying to channel my inner surfer and yoga my way through not falling off this piece of wood on wheels. I only fell twice. I am pretty impressed with myself for not falling more!! Also, I managed to play the 'oh baby, you just go ahead, I feel like I'm holding you back' card so the boy completely missed both of my complete bails.
What else... I have been to see a couple of concerts of bands I knew nothing about before Bryan. Coheed & Cambria and the Silversun Pickups. Both absolutely fantastic. I recommend youtubing them. (As an aside, I appreciate the fact that the word 'youtube' can now be turned into a verb!)
Here's some cool concert pics I took:
Coheed & Cambria (I especially love the guy rocking out)
And Silversun:
Katie and I have had our first meeting with the incomparable Aaron Eyre, musical director extraordinaire, to hash out a songlist for the next 2Divine cabaret. It was brilliant. We have some fantastic mash-ups, so keep your eyes peeled for the teaser vids!!
Speaking of the next 2Divine show, I mentioned a couple of posts ago that Helen Tansey was going to do our promo shots. Well, we had the photo shoot, and let me tell you... this woman is amazing. She is down to earth and sweet and funny, confident behind her camera and very easy to be around. I am, to be honest, a little in love with her. Maybe I just want to be her. Anyhoo, enough gushing, and on to a few choice pics, 'cause I know you wanna see them!!!
These are a few of my fave ones:
She took about 140 pics, and these are just 4 of the ones I LOVE!!! Choosing is going to be difficult, but I am pretty sure Katie and I are up to the task!
Hmmm... I feel like that is all that has been going on... You know, aside from my 35th birthday that is looming.... at least my 25 year-old boyfriend is making me feel way younger than I am...
I apologize for not blogging, I hope you all haven't felt let down...
